How to Draw Scissors

How to Draw Scissors

Want to learn to draw a pair of scissors? This drawing tutorial takes you through how to measure the scissors first, and how to draw the basic shapes accurately. Once the basic shapes are drawn I explain how to draw scissors to look three dimensional by using vertical lines. This simple drawing technique will ensure that the handles of the scissors are all the same thickness.

Once this is complete I explain how to complete the shading using a 2B and 4B pencils. The shading is completed by using the pencil on its side and not using the point. The drawing is created on good quality cartridge paper.

This drawing tutorial is for beginners. This video is suitable for primary school children and students in high schools or secondary schools as well as absolute beginners to drawing.

Are you an Artist?

At Paul Priestley’s Art World, we believe being an artist is a twofold process. It’s a combination between skills, techniques, creativity and the ability to see things in a way others often can’t. Some people become obsessed with learning the techniques of drawing and painting, but that only takes you so far. Passion and the creativity to experiment and make mistakes are essential.

You will only become an artist if …

You remember that no one in the world draws and paints like you do. Be proud of the fact. Be proud of the fact. As an artist seek an individual vision, and don’t let anyone say you haven’t got that. Paul Priestley art tutorials are taught with lots of passion, creativity and with a simple step by step approach to drawing that will inspire everyone. Our art tutorials will help you create your individual vision.
