How to draw Landscape with Coloured Pencils

Draw a landscape with coloured (colored) pencils might look difficult, but if you follow this art tutorial is should be easy. This easy drawing tutorial covers how to draw a landscape using coloured pencils. It explains step by step how to sketch out the initial drawing very lightly and colour the background in very light tones. I also show how to draw things very simply in the background to contrast with the detail of the foreground.
As the drawing develops I explain how, by creating dark tones, you can make the foreground look as though it is in front of the background, creating a three dimensional effect.

Just starting with coloured pencils, check out this art tutorial which explains everything you need to know to start drawing; How to Use Coloured Pencils

Are you an Artist?

At Paul Priestley’s Art World, we believe being an artist is a twofold process. It’s a combination between skills, techniques, creativity and the ability to see things in a way others often can’t. Some people become obsessed with learning the techniques of drawing and painting, but that only takes you so far. Passion, having the creativity to experiment and make mistakes is far more important.

You will become an artist if …

You remember that no one in the world draws and paints like you do. Be proud of the fact. As an artist seek an individual vision, don’t let anyone say you haven’t got that. Or tell you that your art work is not relevant or good enough – what do they know!

Paul Priestley art tutorials are taught with lots of passion, creativity and with a simple step by step approach to drawing that will inspire everyone. Our art tutorials will help you create your individual vision and hopefully, will help you become the artist you have always wanted to be. I sincerely hope so.
